Pacific Sun as of February 2007 has commenced flights to Taveuni island. The subsidiary company of Air Pacific has finalised the purchase of SunAir and is now flying under it own flag of Pacific Sun. The flight to Taveuni have not changed as yet, still stopping off in Savusavu on the flights from Nadi and Suva. Pacific Sun plans to introduce two new 44-seat ATR42-500 to the northern routes in April after accessing the first months of flights.

The airport on Taveuni Island is located in Matei on the northern part of the island. The airport is quite small but receives a number of flights from SunAir and Air Fiji from Nadi and Suva. The airport is quite close to a number of resorts and small accommodation providers. The airport also has recently been upgraded from a gravel runway to a paved runway.

The Taveuni airport is located at Matei on the northern part of Taveuni. Air Fiji and SunAir have regular services to the island with a number of flights per day, both from Nadi International Airport and Nausori Airport near Suva.
